I have been trying to figure this out for an hour. My Windows Vista is
configured so that I am connected automatically to a wireless network when I
turn the laptop on. The problem is that this status message appears each time
my computer comes on showing me the details of my connection. I just want to
be able to disable this automatic message, so that it does not pop every time
I log in, because I have to close it. It's the exact same message you get
when you check the status of a network connection in the Nework and Sharing
Centre. I do not have Group Policy on this version of Vista. Any suggestions
would be helpful. Thanks.

If you right click the Network icon in the notification area, it give you
the option to turn off notification of new networks. I don't know if that's
what you need or not.
