Remove start menu, or at least all entries from it?

Is it possible to remove the start menu altogether? Or if not, is it
possible to get rid of that 'Connect to...' thing?

Have you looked at the component 'Standard Star Menu Shortcuts'? You
can expand the resources tab and disable most or all of them.

I don't have anything that says 'Connect to' on my desktop or on my XPE
system, so it must be possible to get rid of it. <Whatever it is :) >
