Hi;

We recently rebuilt our pc w/Windows 2000 o/s.

Before the rebuild, when we clicked on shutdown the machine would cycle and
shut itself off completely, now it cycles and displays the "It is now safe
to turn off your computer" screen, (like in the old Windows 95 on older
PCs).

How do we get it back to shutting down automatically w/o the displaying that
screen?

Thanks in advance.

Andy

As long as your machine supports this .. check this
registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\PowerdownAfterShutdown

Value should be 1 for auto power off and 0 for what you
are seeing now.

If it is not there, you can create a new String Value
(REG_SZ) and then set the 1 or 0
