Dear All

I used User-level Security wizard.
It maked a caos and I decided to remove it. I deleted system.mdw files on my
pc and finally uninstalled MS-Access.
Reinstalled MS-Access and I still can't get access to design mode on forms.
When I look at Users and Groups Permissions, it shows that Current Owner for
all DB elements is <Unknown>.
This project is critical for me, please help!

If you secured it properly then you MUST use the secured workgroup file to
get in and then after you are in the file there are things you can do to
remove security. If you also deleted the secured workgroup file or if you
mistakenly applied security using the system MDW file that you deleted then
you are screwed unless...

a) that file is still in your recycle bin or recoverable from backup

or

b) you have a backup of the file from before you applied security (you
should have).

On the chance that you applied incomplete security you might find that while
you cannot open the file, you might be able to import all of its objects
into a new blank file and recover that way.

Rick,

I did a similar mistake as original post. I added a user when I was in the
MDW file. I have deleted the mdw but no matter what access database I get
into I am promted for the user name and password. If I try to creat a new db
I still am proimted for a user name and psw. I have 50 dbs on my computer.
Now I am prompted for the id and psw for all of them. What can i do?

You need to rejoin the standard system.mdw workgroup file that ships with
Access, using the workgroup administrator (don't need a mdb file open to get
to this) in Tools, Security menu.

If joining system.mdw doesn't do it for you, then locate all mdw files on
your system and rename them. Then open Access and it'll create a new
pristine system.mdw.
