I have Windows 2000 Pro on C:\. Accidently, I created
second version of it on D:\WINDOWS and then deleted the
whole D:\WINDOWS folder.

Now, at booting it asks me to choose from the two versions
of Windows 2000 Pro.

How can I make the m/c realize that I don't have the D:\
version!

I heard that it has some thing to do with "kernel" or so.
How do I fix this?

Help please.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Look into your Boot.ini file and it's going to look something like this....

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional" /fastdetect

You will want to change it to

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows 2000
Professional" /fastdetect

NOTE: The number on your partition may be different.
