Remove 'read only' writing to CD

I'm writing photos to a CD. However, I'm not being allowed to rename or edit
these CD files because they have been transferred onto the CD as 'read only'.
Computer doesn't allow me to change the attribute. This problem occurred
after loading SP2. Can anyone give me help, or counsel? Thank you.

Are you wanting to edit the files that are
on the CD? Is this a CD-R or a CD-RW?

CD-R disks are Read Only.

CD-RW disks are Re-Writeable.

If you copy the files back to your hard drive
you should be able to edit them.
