A download was obtained from the internet which was
removed from the desktop but it has left itself on the
taskbar located at the bottom of the screen. It brings
up an internet search menu bar. I have tried add/remove
programmes but it cannot locate it as it doesnt seem to
have an option for removal of programmes on the taskbar.
If anyone has a suggestion I would welcome the response.
Thanks

Lanx,

A running application (taskbar button) can be closed from Task
Manager. Right click in a blank area of the taskbar, and select Task
Manager. Find the offending application, select it, and End Task.

Now get HijackThis, Spybot S&D, and expert advice at SWI Forums (all
free), and get rid of this parasite. Complete instructions are
