Hello,
I am trying to modify an existing database. When the database is opened, it
has a "Password Required" message that comes up. I want to remove this but
can't seem to locate where to turn this off. There are no Modules or macros
in the database.

Any thoughts?

You need to open the database exclusively to change this. Therefore don't
open the database from a shortcut or double clicking it in Windows Explorer.
Some of what I say below depends upon the version of Access. I'm going to
assume 2003.

Open up Access by itself. Probably something like Start button, Programs,
Microsoft Office.

Then File, Open and look for the database file in question.

Click ONCE on the file then go down to the lower left of the window to a
dropdown box that says Open. Select Open Exclusive.

Input the password and open the database as normal.

Next go to Tools, Security, and select Unset Database Password.

Thanks Jerry. That worked (I do have Access 2003 - I will start including
that in my questions). Chuck
