i had a problem with sony laptop vio, i was try to upgrade from win Xp home
to Win Xp pro but i got wrong CD . The cd i installed was win xp home. now
i have two(2) version of win XP home edition on my computer. During the
installation, it erased all the previous sony files that originally came
with the laptop including the system recovery wizard that already
preinstalled. Then i try to get it from Sony but is not available. So if
anyone know how to remove Operating system manually pls give hints
thanks

Try this: Open the System Configuration Utility by going to: Start/Run/
typing "msconfig" (minus the quotation markers) and clicking the "OK"
button. When that tool opens, click the "Boot.ini" tab and then click the
"Check All Boot Paths" button. When, and if, it identifies a boot path as
being invalid and offers to remove it; let it do it.
