Hi

I have a W2K domain controller named tech1.com. There used to be another domain controller with another domain named tech2.com, which has trust relationshipw with the domain tech1.com. However, it has been removed, but it was not removed properly without using DCPROMO. Now the W2k DC named tech1.com has a whole bun of errors which tries to contact the old domain tech2.com. The event ID showing in event log is 5719 which is related to Netlogon

Question

How do you remove the old domain objects? Including the old server name that is listed in Active Directory which was the old domain controller

Thank

What you need to do is remove the domain metadata from AD. Use NTDSUTIL
and the option 'metadata cleanup'. Don't forget to remove any settings in
DNS/WINS.
