Dumb problem: I like clean start menu; but IBM has put a
shortcut at the bottom of the right column (on XP
Pro): "Access IBM" directly to right of "All Programs" -
it's an OK feature; I just don't want it on the start
menu - and I can't get to it in any of the normal
ways; "Explore" "Properties" etc - what am I missing? -
any suggestions - thanks

Right-click [Start]
| Properties |
/Start Menu\
[Customize]
/Advanced\
Under "Start Menu Items:"
[ ] "Access IBM"

If it is not there, then...

[Start] | Run |
Regedit
[Enter]

and delete this key:

Michael Thanks so much for your fast reply!

Boorish IBM did not include an "Access IBM" item in the
normal Start Menu|Properties list, but your REGEDIT tip
succeeded in removing it ... I feel much better!

Boorish IBM (I presume) did not include an "Access IBM"
or "Manufacturer's Link" item in the normal Start
Menu|Properties list, but the REGEDIT tip in the above
post succeeded in removing it ... I feel much better!

You are welcome. If you want to add that check box in the start menu items
properties, you can navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StartM
enu\StartPanel\ShowOEMLink

and on the right pane, double click on NoOEMLinkInstalled and set the value
to 0 (zero).
