Remove letters from text string

Hi

I run Excel 2K

I require a formula that removes the last 19 letters from a text string.

I have a number of varying lengths of text strings that require the last 10
letters being removed from each them.

Can anyone help?

Maybe something like this would suffice,
in B1, copied down:
=LEFT(A1,LEN(A1)-19)
