There may be but I don't know of one. I find regedit pretty straight
forward
as it is. Regseeker is something you may want to check out.

I downloaded Autoruns from sysinternals. Much better than MSconfig.
Is there a replacement for regedit to make things easier?
Thanks again.

That should not cause a problem with your operating system. Best
practice
is
to backup any registry keys before you delete them "just in case".
If
after
a period of time you see no problems you can delete them.

Steven,
I've thought of reinstalling but don't have all of the files for
some
programs to do it. As my friend has some of my CDs. This is not
a
good
situation let me tell you.
Can I delete any registry item with IIS in it? All IIS named
files are
in
one directory.
Thanks for the help.

My guess is he did some unsupported changes to the operating
system in
an
attempt to get PWS work on XP Home. Since it is not shown in Add
and
Remove
Programs/Windows components then you will need to manually remove
associated
files and registry entries to see if that fixes your problem. You
can
search
the registry for program related entries or live with it as if
it is
not
causing any problems. You can use msconfig or Autoruns from
SysInternals/Microsoft to view and disable non essential startup
processes
and services. If it was my computer I would probably reinstall
the
operating
system because who knows what they all did when they borrowed it.

Autoruns
I gather it can but takes some work. It was installed along
with VS
Express
and Net2 by a young guys who USED to borrow my PC. He wasn't
happy
using
VC++2003. I uninstalled VS Express and gather that IIS was
partially
removed
by that.

How did IIS get installed in the first place, since it can
only be
installed
on Pro?
