remove icons from the task bar

how can I remove Icons from the task bar. I have two of
netscape icons showing& I also want to remove other
icons.

Anne,
I think you are refering to the QUICK LAUNCH bar next to
the START button (that is where it usually is).. If so, to get rid
of those shortcuts, merely RIGHT click them and select DELETE
and OK to confirm. This will not get rid of the original program.
