Hi,

Exchange 2000 SP3 W2K SP4 - not sure if this is more of an AD or
Exchange question, thus the cross-post.

When I try from inside the office to email (e-mail address removed) the
display address changes to the name of someone I had previously set up
and deleted as a contact. The properties for this person show _no_
first or last name or email address, but the display name is
/O=JOMTIEN1/OU=FIRST ADMINISTRATIVE
GROUP/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=ARAYASILAWATANAWONGSE.

There is no such object in the AD (that I can find) and no mailbox.
How do I delete this object or reference so that I can again email
this person.

Thanks,

Peter

Remove them from your Contacts folder (of verify that they are really
deleted).

Are you replying to an old message? If so, the message has the
original O/R addreses in it.

If you're entering the SMTP address "(e-mail address removed)" into the
command line then you probably have the user still in your contacts
folder.

Since the SMTP address resolves to some sort of object (the name
changes), you can use the ADUC to verify that the object really
doesn't exist by putting the "/o=.../ou=..." string in to the "Find"
dialog's edit box. If there's nothing in the AD then it's in your
Contacts (or maybe even in an old Personal Adress Book).

Yep, that did it.

Thanks,

Peter
