One of my users inadvertantly saved an incorrect password for our FTP site.
(checked save password on the Log On As window.) How can I remove that
password and effectively uncheck the save password box?

Thanks

What program are you using to FTP?

Can you log in with your origanal password?
If so, when you upload and you enter your correct password
can you highlight the incorrect password and use your delete key?

We are using Internet Explorer for the FTP. Since the password saved in
Explorer is incorrect it never gives the logon box.

Okay try this:

To adjust AutoComplete settings in IE

In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Content tab. Under Personal information, click AutoComplete.
Select the check boxes for the AutoComplete options you want to use.
Choose Clear Passwords. Remember this will clear 'all' passwords so backup.

Good Luck

Morning Phil,

Tried that. It is still trying to insert the bad password into the FTP
string. Any other ideas?

Did you click on the "Clear Forms" and/or "Clear Passwords" buttons to clear
out that information. Click on the OK button, followed by the Apply button,
and the OK button again.

What operating system are you using?
I see you're using OE 6.00.3790.1830 for news.

The above is for XP. Also try clearing your temp files

Good luck

Moring Phil,

Tried clearing forms, passwords, & temp files. Didn't help.

We are using Windows XP.

<too add>

FileZilla will upload your files but you need to
use a web editor to create and save your work
to a folder - then upload with FZ.

You're using IE6 as your web editor?

Why can't you use the same menu command? (File, Login As...)
Note: you may have to wait for the ftp session to fail before that
command appears in the File menu.

Good luck
