Why isn't that an option on when to remove items from the server? If an MVP person reads this,
forward it to developement. Currently I either have to rely on days or when I delete a message. I
shold be able to keep just my Inbox messages on the server and have them removed when I file them
away. *sigh*

I'm working with Jeff S to find a work around but so far, no luck.

I gave you a workaround in a different post. I think the vast majority of
users would *not* want messages deleted from the server just because they're
moved out of the Inbox - many people use rules to file messages into
sub-folders, and would not want them deleted from the server because of
that. Getting the "delete from server when moved out of the PST" option
working is more what is required.

Hey Jeff,

Do you think this was unintentionally removed and that it might be soemthing that could either be
Patch fixed or might be included in Outlook 2003? Some people in my office are upset that it
doesn't work well and thought it it worked how you thought it used to work, that this would be a
Perfect solution.

I dont' know if I should tell them it's coming or tell them not to get their hopes up.

Just thought I'd check.

Don't get their hopes up. It certainly won't be fixed in Outlook 2003 when
it ships, because there just isn't time; whether it will be included in a
service pack I can't say - a lot of people are involved in such decisions.
It is on a list of things I want to look into for Outlook 12, though.

Ah well.

I'm just wondering if that functionality was taken out on purpose or if something else got changed
and broke that "feature". Thought maybe it'd be a simple SP fix or something. I guess I'll just
have to wait and see... :(

Sorry about that. Thanks for bringing to my attention, though - I'll make
sure it's added to the list of things to test in the future (assuming it
actually worked in Outlook 2002, which we'll go test).

Well I'm using 2002 so you don't need to test that, but if you can find a version of 2000 or
earlier, that might shed some light on things...

Right. I realized right after sending the post that I typed 2002 rather
than 2000...
