ok I have never been to great at Word to start with. But now I have to use it
in college. I got a new version and it is driving me crazier. how can i get
rid of the formatting distriptions on the side of my document. I just want
to be able to type my paper, make changes and corrections without all the
mess on the side, don't tell me what i did on my paper just let me see it.
HELP

From the Tools menu, select Options and then go to the View tab and set the
Style area width to 0.

Or click the X to close the Styles and Formatting task pane if that's the
issue.

I do not think you understand. i wrote a term paper sent it to my professor
she makes corrections and comment and i have to fix the problem. when i
correct or write more i have to use a different color, or mark through. when
i do this i see no color change but i get a dotted line and a little box to
the side that says what i did. i don't like this i just want it to show what
i did and not boxes telling me. it gets too confusing. please help.
