I had a file called mousebut.exe which was infected by a
Trojan Horse virus and deleted. Now when I start Windows
2000, I get a message to delete the file from the
Registry. How do I delete the file from the Registry?

Post the text of the error message.

Search the string "mousebut" in the registry.
Then delete hiv or change the value.

Not certain what you are advising but the instruction is not clear
and potentially disasterous. What is "hiv"? Could you mean "hive"?
