You can remove individual links such as Documents, Pictures, Music
etc.. by right clicking on each individual link and click "Remove
Link". If you want to remove the entire Favorite links, the Explorer
folder tree would also be sacrificed. Click Organize > click "Navigation
Pane". --

mmm...but if don't want sacrificed the navigation pane? into registry, can i
modify anything? i think that it's impossible that i can't close only the
favorite links.....
my build is 5365

thanks

The general rule of thumb with the registry is this - if there's a way to do
it in Windows without using the Registry, then don't use the Registry to do
it ;o)

I'd also like to see this. I want the ability to either remove the favorite
links bar or move it to the bottom. As a sysadmin, I usually need to navigate
the folder structure, not go to pictures, my docs, etc. It's way too clunky
now. I can see how the interface is good for the end user, but as an
administrator, I need the option of having faster access to my folder
structure.

+1 on this, It's been bugging me since I installed Vista how to turn the
bl00dy thing off. I have over 9 Network mounted drives, 2 optical drives, and
2 local HDDs quick navigation of my Folder Tree is more important that
spending 1 or 2 secs resizing the "Favorite Links" frame everytime I open an
explorer window, sometimes the Folders frame is off the bottom of the window
and I have to Maximise the window in order to resize it.
