Hi,
It depends on the OS. Knowing the Registry key won't work all the
time because Group Policy doesn't edit the registry, but edits the
"policy" section of the registry.
You can manually change it on XP. I haven't seen 2K a lot so I am not
sure if it is there. Most of these settings are in
HKLUser-Software-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion-Explorer or
Advanced.
I found the key for deleting it in the Quick Launch Toolbar. However,
I don't know it for the startmenu. Mine is not there on XP for my
users but I have lots of Group Policies in place that restrict the
Start Menu.
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}\Stubpath"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed
Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}\Stubpath"
Cheers,
Lara
