I want to upgrade my BIOS, because my power down settings won't work in XP
(they did in 98), and in the information I found it suggests removing the
old drivers before replacing them with the new ones. What's the best way to
find and remove these old drivers ( I did a search and found all the VIA
listings, must I delete each one in each file?). See the following link for
clarification

Thanks.

What does driver removal have to do the BIOS!!
Absolutly nothing, deleting a component driver is really not a concern with x
before upgrading,xp reloads the drivers at every start-up,and usually if upgradin
the drivers xp will overwrite the old with new.Power down? XP doesnt really use tha
it is in most BIOS menus but usually is disabled, flash the new BIOS version and leave
it to xp or set to default.

If you're this unsure about doing the flash, you might want to rethink this
plan. If you mess up during the flash, you'll kill your motherboard with no
way to recover.
