if you mean the bar just above the mail folders, you can hide the address
field by sliding it to the right just enough to hide it (but not all the way
right) but you can't remove the bar itself.

Please read my posting before following up with incorrect information.
Both the prior post and your repeating of it's contents will do nothing
to help 2002 users.

Sorry about that but you still could have replied to the topic that it was
incorrect. This time I just took over Nikki's post.

Maybe he felt because it wasn't his post, he wouldn't get a correct answer
if he replied to it.. or because of syncing problems with the news servers,
he didn't see the first question and answer.

Thought so already. No biggy if you count all the "Cannot customize Outlook
Today" posts :-)

The previous post did not specify the version so it's likely correct for
versions prior to 2002 and it is correct in 2002 *if you have turned on the
"Web" toolbar for it contains yet another "address" bar (it's not labeled
"address" like the one that's bugging me).
At any rate, if I have the folders view permanently on (I have for about
ten years) what the heck do I need a big fat bar telling me what folder I'm
in and an address bar for navigating about the folders?

As for synching does that mean there's both WWW and NNTP versions of this
newsgroup or just propagation across multiple NNTP servers? I do know the
MS groups take longer than any other I use for a post to appear. I *think*
I see the most recent when reading other than stuff that's posted in the 2-
3 minute wait/gap.

Hi Graham,

Is the address bar gone (moved to the right that is) now? In the registry
the key AddressBarWidth in
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Options key]
should be set to 1 now then.

There is indeed a WWW version of this newsgroup. It's located at
http://communities.microsoft.com/ne...icrosoft.public.outlook.general&iPageNumber=1

There have been some serious synchronisation issues between the WWW and the
NNTP version over the last couple of weeks due to the Swen virus but they've
got it under control now. The WWW is the main version I guess since that one
has always been up to date even during the virus outbreak.

The lag time between submitting and seeing your post is about three minutes
here indeed.

Regards

Read the tip on Slipstick, but apparently don't need it as OL 2002 is
holding the Address field position across sessions for both my Folder and
Outlook Today views. Either way I just want to get rid of that entire
Folder List / Address field "toolbar?" and it's the only one I cannot
control, if theres a reg hack to remove it entirely that would be cool.

Thanks,
Graham

There is not a reg hack to remove it completely, you can only hide the
address bar field.
