Removal of software from Add/remove list

My wife downloaded and installed some cross stitch demo software. I
was not able to remove it because it said the "install.log" did not
exist. I even tried re-installing it but still no install.log. U think
my virus/adware protection was messing it up. Anyway I finally just
deleted the folder with the program but I am now left with the item
still listed in the Add/Remove list. In the earlier windows OS I was
able to remove items from this list using Tweak but I can not find the
same entry in my tweak XP. Can some one tell me how to edit the
add/remove list in XP?

Look for the software under...
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

And remove that programs key.

Thanks it works also found out that I can do this from my CClener
software. Nice free program to clean your PC
