Are we talking about the files that appear in the MRU (Most Recently Used)
list?

Just open other files that do exist, and the others will eventually fall off
the list.

If he's really adamant, and is comfortable mucking with the registry, he can
delete the MRUx entries from
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\n.n\Access\Settings, where n.n
is 8.0 for Access 97, 9.0 for Access 2000 and 10.0 for Access 2002 and 11.0
for Access 2003.

Hi everyone

I'm writing in on behalf of my father-in-law who is
encountering the following problem. He wishes to delete
the names of Access files but he repeatedly gets the
following message:
Microsoft Access can't find the database file 'c:\AOL
4.0i\modems\my documents\db4.mdb.'
He was using AOL 4.0 but decided to go to AOL 5.0 as well
as deleting the Office programme and re-installing it but
whilst the file databases have been removed the names
remain. Any help greatly appreciated

Hi Douglas, thanks for your reply. He is trying to remove
file names that appear in the window under existing files
but is finding it impossible to do.By clicking on the
names he gets the message I sent in earlier and if he
right clicks on the name he is asked ' whats this ?'
