When ever you insert removeable storage/media xp puts up
a dialog with actions to be taken. you can chose an
action to take automatically every time that type of
storage is inserted. I would like to turn this off since
I always chose no action. Does anybody know how to do
this.

Right click on the removable drive and select properties. Go to the AutoPlay
tab, and for each file type, select no action as the action to take every
time.

I have the same problem, and I did that, but it's like Windows won't store that preference.

For instance, on my CD drive I choose "Take No Action" under "Music Files" and click Apply. Then I go to something else on the list, like "Audio CD" and do the same thing. When I go back to "Music Files" Windows had reset it back to "Prompt me each time..."

Is there any other way to set this that might work?
