when I plug in my ipod my computer restarts. this happens
with some other removable drives I have any ideas? please
e-mail me or post reply.

It seems you're crashing Windows, thus the restarting. To see the BSOD instead of restarting Control Panel | System | Advanced |
Startup and Recovery | uncheck Automatically Reboot. Has the ipod worked before with Windows 2000 and no longer does? Do you have
drivers specifically for Windows 2000 from the manufacturer?

I have the same problem with my Olympus Digi Camera but it
only crashes on the SECOND connect. I have s dual boot on
my PC so I tried the same hardware (PC,USB,CAM,cable, etc)
under windows 98 and I can disconnect and reconnect the
usb over and over with NO crashes. I took the camera to my
PC @ work (also W2K) and it crashes too. It looks like it
is a BUG in Windows 2000 Pro. It doesn't matter if I
dismount the removable media or not either.
