Good day ladies & gentleman,

Friend A has a computer(WinXP Home) in USA via DSL from Verizon with router.
Friend B has computer (WinXP Prof) is in Germany with DSL from QSC.
Now friend A asks friend B to help him with some comp issues.

So A & B are installing VNCPro, so that B can help A with some
computer issues.
A determines his IP by typing www.whatismyip.com in the webbrowser.

So B types the IP in his browser but nothing happens, just "this site
can not be displayed". This is very funny because when a friend of
mine in USA tried this he got the authentication window from router of
A.

When B is pinging and tracerting the IP of A always after entering
verizons subnet requested timeout appears.

So could you please help me, how can B connect via VNCPro to A to help
him with some issues on A's maachine??

sounds like site a has it's firewall turned on..

1: Can ANY site connect to Site A? If so, then firewall is not an
issue.
2: Can Site B connect to any other VNC site? (eliminates firewall on
B's side.
3: go to network properties tab on Site A.
Click on the "advanced" tab.
Is firewall turned on? if not, bummer it's something else.
if so, you need to add the VNC port to the list of acceptable
ports.
click on settings then "Add"
Describe the service as VNC and give your computer's IP for the
hosting computer (you *might* be able to use the loopback address
127.0.0.1 if your IP changes alot) , external port 5900, internal
port 5900 , type TCP.
hit ok, and make sure it's clicked as an available service.
4: hopefully this fixes it... site B shouldn't have to do anything
since he is initiating the service.

good luck.
