I have a problem with windows xp pro where by i cannot
connect to my pdc from a remote site. The remote sites
connect to the server using hardware firewalls which
automatically create vpn tunnels. The firewalls are set as
dhcp servers and each remote site has a different subnet.
E.g 192.168.1.*, 192.168.2.*, etc. Windows 95, windows 98
and windows 2000 pro computers can connect fine but the
windows xp computer wont connect, although it will connect
fine when connecting locally. I have looked at dns,
routes, wins, lmhosts, and netbios but nothing seems to
work.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards, Matthew Gibson.

Your subject indicated VPN but in the body of your message there was no mention of VPN

So, are the XP Pro pc's trying to connect through a VPN? Are the others connecting through the VPN? What do you get for errors on the client? Host? Host logs?

It seems like your default gateway doesn't know where to forward the
packets to...

On each PC, when you do "route print", do you see a route for packets
to the other networks (i.e., 192.168.1.0, 192.168.2.0, etc)? Also
check this on the default gateway....
