I am trying to set up my Dad's computer with mine via
remote access, or remote assistance. We both have XP
Home edition in our computers, is this going to be
possible? I can't seem to find any instructions for
settig this up. Can someone please help me. If this
isn't possible with XP home, is PC Anywhere advisable?
Thank you!

Hi Sandee

You should be able to use remote assistance

If you go Control Panel on your Dads computer <then System> and on the
Remote Tab, tick the box,
Allow Remote Assistance invitations to be sent from this computer

Then your dad would then go to the Start Button , Click on Help and
Support,
Click on invite a friend to connect to your computer with Remote Assistance
Click on Invite someone to help you then he can email you
If you use Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger your Dad can do it from there

If you are use a router or a fire wall it can be tricky

Depending on how many times you will need "remote assistance", you may want
to consider using a service called GOTOMYPC. It's an online thing that
works GREAT. Go to www.gotomypc.com for more information. I think there is
a free trial and if you like it, it's about $20/month.

Hope this helps,

Tony
