Hi,

I am trying to enable remote desktop for windows xp
professional. However, when you go to Control Panels ->
System, the remote tab is not there.

Does anyone know how I can get the remote tab to show up?

Thanks,
Hai

From an earlier MS Post:

Do you have a REMOTEPG.DLL file in your SYSTEM32 directory? If so, try reregistering it.

regsvr32 remotepg.dll

I just tried your suggestion, but am still experiencing
the same problem. I registered it and rebooted. I also
tried unregistering it and re-registering it and
rebooted. Still no luck.

Any further help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Hai

If re-registering didn't do it, I wonder if you have disabled any services?

If not, I'd advice a repair install of XP (install over itself)

After such a repair, be sure to put back SP1 right away, and check Windows
Update for critical patches. Make sure the firewall is up before connecting
to a network.

Takes you the same place--if it isn't there going via Control panel, it
still won't be there.

What about control panel,

Shift, right click on system, then 'run as' and enter an admin acct and
password (if you have one).

I have remote settings blocked with gpo and can get in this way.
