I usually do PC support but I have now moved into a part
time job running Windows 2000 server with about 50 Win
2000 Professional Workstations. My questions are: Does
Windows 2000 come with a built in application to provide
remote assistance to other Workstations on the network in
a Graphical User Interface? If so. What is this
application called and how do I access it?

I like NetMeeting for this. I believe that MSN Messenger has some
application sharing features, but have never explored them. NetMeeting's
remote desktop sharing is great, especially for administrators.

NetMeeting is good for callobration, but as far as remote control of
workstation, you may want to look into some third-party software like VNC,
DameWare, etc.

Netmeeting does allow remote desktop control. At my previous company, I used
it for remote control of a production workstation (which ought to be an
oxymoron), and allowed our internal support to remote control my desktop
with it. Generally, we allowed local administrator or domain admins access,
as well as whatever other support was relevant, since it would then work
with regular Windows authentication. Great tool. Underused, and
underappreciated.
