Remote procedure call

After being online for a minute or so my PC comes up with
a Generic host protocol error generated by NT
system/authority because the remote procedure call
terminated unexpectedly and needs to shut down. I have
reformatted and have a clean system but it still occurs.
Any ideas as to why this happens or more importantly how
do I fix it and stop it happening.

Any replies via email would be greatly appreciated
