I installed a USB modem to my machine at home. About half
the time I connect to my ISP, I get an error message
forcing a reboot in 1 minute. It states that the computer
must be restarted because the "remote procedure call" was
activated. Any ideas? thanks.

Hi John, I had the same trouble with my PC. There is a
virus goin around call W.32 Worm Blaster. This is what
is causing your probs. Go to services (search
services.msc) when it comes up go to Remote call
Procedure and select the option to TAKE NO ACTION. When
you have done this go to
www.securityresponse.symantec.com and download the tool
for the worm blaster virus. I did this and it cured my
prob. (by the way if you are running Win xp you need to
disable system restore before you take these steps. Good
Luck Becca.
