remote procedure call disconnects during dial up

My XP notebook is used in the office in a network
atmosphere, dsl internet connection. At home I use MSN
dial up for internet access. After I establish a
connection I activate my Outlook Express. While checking
for messages (server at the office which is SBS 4.5) I get
a message the windows must shut down because the Remote
Procedure Call has diconnected. Is it something to do with
the proxy?
