remote print server error

when trying to add a Canon5000iR printer keep receiving
error "specified print monitor is unknown". Files start
uploading to \print$\W32X86 but it bombs out. any ideas?

Are we trying to install the printer on a physical system or a virtual cluster? Is the system Windows 2000 or Windows 2003?
