remote operation

Hello all,
Trying to control office computer from home. This is what
is have:

Office: Windows XP Professional logged on to local intranet
Home: Windows 98 with remote client installed

Have access to the office intranet via VPN, so I can see
my computer from home and access its contents. Cannot,
however, create an account for my home machine in Windows
XP at work. The home machine does not appear listed in the
domain where my office machine is. When I enter the name
of my home computer to create new user account, I get
error message: cannot find name of user or computer.

What am I missing?
