Hi,

I have my webpage created in FP2003. My problem is, for example, in order
for my webpage to look like the one I have saved in FP, I have to move a
table a few lines down to have it appear the same; however when I do this, my
FP saved webpage is looking different. Does this make sense?

Also, my text is not in the same location. Is there a way to have it save
it "as seen" in FP so that it is viewable the same way on the web?

Thank you in advance

In general, what you are asking for is not possible.
Each browser is different and will render a page differently to other
browsers (even the same version of a browser can be set up to render pages
differently to others). Each PC used to view the site can have different
settings - screen resolution (which sets the maximum width for the
browser), large fonts, small fonts, colour depth - so many variables.

The design (or normal) view in FrontPage is not WYSIWYG, it merely suggests
that What You See is What You Might Get If You Are Lucky. The ideal test
is preview in Browser, and use different browsers, with different browser
sizes.

As for your specific problem - links to the finished page, and the page as
originally designed should help to diagnose any problems.

How do websites get items correctly aligned? Any programs you suggest since
FP2003 is not capable of this?

Thank you,

I have no problems using FrontPage to produce pages that are almost
identical in most browsers, and browser sizes. It's down to design. I (as
do many other authors) use a centred, fixed width design, and set the width
at 760px, which is OK for browsers opened at 800px wide through 1024px.
Narrower than 800 gives a horizontal scrollbar, wider than 1024 gives wide
margins. Fixed width designs generally give a fixed layout, provided the
design allows for the users font-size and font-face preferences - the User
has full control over these, the Author can only suggest font size and
face.

Look at http://www.thepattysite.com/window_sizes1.cfm for more information.
