Remote Network access?

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could help me (not sure if this is the right area
to post this).
Ill explain my situation so you can see what I'm trying to do.

Ok I work for a small business and were currently expanding, we have just
purchsed an second factory where some of our manufacturing process will take
place.
Because our second factory will still require access to the server we have
here (for certain programs that we all need to share) we need to set up some
kind of remote networking.
We set up remote access but the problem here is that it "takes over" the
other computer in order for it to be used. We need it so that we can gain
access to our server while not taking over one of our machines.

I'm not too sure how important this is but Ill give some details anyway:

Computer 1 (Win XP Pro SP1) (With ADSL internet) is connected to our Server
(Win 2000 SP1) (which does NOT have internet access)

Computer 2 (Win XP Pro not sure on SP)(With ADSL internet) wants to be able
to connect to the server via Computer 1 so that it can access files and
programs.

This link would need to be in effect perminent, and would need to operate as
though the computer was connected to the server using network cables.

Is anyone able to help me?

Have been looking about on the internet and it looks like I require a WAN so
dont think you guys can help me

I think you should be looking at using a Virtual Private Network aka VPN. In
your situation two dedicated broadband VPN end-point routers, one at each
site, would provide a secure data link between your two sites... Here some
such devices that may be of interest...
