Hello,
My host computer keeps dropping the sound application
(and a few others) in my LAN. I have checked local
resources option to keep sound on the host computer which
I want to do.

I can usually get the audio application back by resetting
my router which is a Linksys WRT45G and then logging in
again.

Any ideas?

Bill

As a follow up, I can use third party remote programs
such as VNC just fine. I just can't utilize XP remote and
get an audio device to work on the host machine. Any
ideas would be appreciated as I really would like to use
XP for this application.
Thanks!

Dropping after sound is being channeled over to your PC from the remote PC or sound simply never
gets channeled over to your PC from the remote PC? One work around may be to start the application
that your trying to use, ie. listen to the audio, on the remote PC then remote desktop into that PC
from your PC. Some folks also find that opening UDP Port 3389, in addition to the normal TCP Port
3389, helps with audio if this is over the public internet to a remote site.

Your suggestion does work. I can start the audio
application on the host pc and then connect using XP
remote and it still works. If I connect first using XP,
the audio application will not work. For some reason XP
remote is disabling the audio device if it connects
first. Not a big deal but a nuisance.

Thanks for the help!
