Remote Desktops

Does anyone know if there is a workaround for entering an ip address :
port number using remote desktops in 2003 server.
(xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx) The error I receive is "the server cannot
contain the following characters". I need additional ports other than
3389 for remote management.

What version of the remote desktop client are you running to connect to this
2003 server? And on what OS?

You should be able to connect exactly as you specified to your server:
<ipaddress>:<port>

Drew,

I am having the same problem . Its not hte standerd RDP Client from XP
that the user is talking about . Its the RDP client that you get from
the Admin pack from the Windows 2003 server cd. Its a MSI file that
gives you diffrent tools. Remote Desktops is one of them.


Please let me know if someone figure this one out. I am trying to
access xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:3390 and its not working. It works fine with
eh Npormal RDP client bu tI really enjoy the remote desktops
interface.
