remote desktop

Can anyone tell me if I can use remote desktop between
two computers not on a network .me and my business
partner have the same computers and are both running wp
pro.we used to do it with pc anywhere.we send files back
and forth between us could someone please tell me if this
possible and how. we both have internet
connetions.........thank you dennis
 
If you guys are behind a router. And, get IP address from
that router, you should be able to. Go to your friends
pc, and open up a dos prompt. type in ipconfig, you will
see an ip address like 192.168.X.X, then go back to your
pc, and put that ip address in remote control. Just
remember you have to have remote control enabled on his
pc. You get there by right clicking on "my computer" and
selecting properites, then select tab "remote" Then put a
check in "remote desktop" make sure you have an account
on your partners pc.

Describe what you mean by "not on a network"... Are you trying to do
a RAS (phone connection), Direct Cable link, etc?
