I have a networked PC (XP home) and Laptop (XP Pro) at
home and I want to be able to operate the home pc on my
laptop. I can do this over the internet via Remote
assistant with now problem and take full control of the
home pc on my laptop. Is it possible to do the same but
direct via the network instead of having to go through
the internet.
Thanks
John

XP Home does not support the use of Remote Desktop in a "host" mode. So, with that said...you can
use VNC or NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing to access/control a XP Home box remotely...

Get the VNC software from...

http://ultravnc.sourceforge.net/

For help with NetMeeting RDS look at this KB article. NetMeeting is built-in to XP and can not be
upgraded...

In a local LAN situation like your talking about I think VNC is the prime choice...
