No way. WinXP is single user system, therefore, when a remote
user connects, the local one is switched off.
However, with certain software, XP can be made multiuser,
like a Windows Server, so several remote users can log on,
along with the local console user.

Would this be possible with vista?

No. Windows XP Pro and Vista are a "single" user PC. When you access
these from a "remote" PC, the Remote Desktop forces the PC's monitor
to be "logged" off.

If you want to have both the PC monitor and the Remote "monitor"
active at the same time, look at UltraVNC (www.uvnc.com)
