I have Xp Sp2 Home addtion on two computers with does not support remote
desktop. Can I download this feature from Microsoft? What can I do if I
need this feature?

XP Home can not act as a Remote Desktop host. You can use XP Home as a
Remote Desktop client to remotely access and control a XP Pro machine or
connect to a Windows 2003/2000 server running Terminal Server. The client
software is built-in to XP Home so no download is needed.

You can use an alternative like UltraVNC to remotely access and control your
XP Home machines just like you were sitting in front of it. Get the server,
client, encryption plug-in (very important) and XP video driver (install on
the UltraVNC host PCs) from...

Thank you for your help.

I have downloaded the software you recommended, but I keep getting a message
that I can not connect to server.

I have tried everything possible at least what is recommended in the FAQ
section.

I notice that it says that the software cannot be used with ADSL
connections. I have an ADSL connection.

There is no firewall at my home and I have no firewall on my computer, but
maybe the hotel has a firewall. Can I check that? None of the staff members
at the hotel know anything about computers and they think a firewall is a
wall between two fires.

Any suggestions?

Some ASDL/DSL modems are also routers. If that is the case then the modem
needs to be in a bridge mode or you need to configure the modem to
forward/open TCP Port 5900 for UltraVNC to the private LAN IP address of the
PC your trying to reach. Check with your ISP or the modem manufacturer about
that...
