Hi all

Can someone please point me or help me understand the remotes control
feature of Windows 2000 WORKSTATION. I would like to be able to take over
desktops from my workstation /mobile pc, and was wondering whether it is too
requires the installation of the Terminal software.

TIA

2000 Pro does NOT include Terminal Services (host) however you can use VNC or rcmd

Thanks for the answer. So what is the purpose of the Remote Control check
box in active directory >User Property?

That is only to allow/disable remote controlling of user's sessions on a
Terminal Server, not on a workstation.

OK. thanks. So I have to migrate to XP any machince that I want to
control...

Yes, Windows XP Professional, or use a third-party tool like VNC on
Windows 2000 Professional.

(The Remote Control tab on user objects in Active Directory does not
affect Windows XP Pro, the settings for Remote Control in XP is set up
on the System Properties control panel applet in XP.)

I am aware of the all XP option, I was not aware for the 2000 no options.
Thank you.
