Dear all,

I try to test the remote desktop through explorer by using
the TSWEB
I can reach the login page where I need to enter the
Server name on whihc I want to connect.
Actually my remote sysstem is a portable running window Xp
pro and I am trying to connect fron Winn 2000 pro.

In server name field I enter directly the IP adress of my
portable cause I did not install name resolution yet:

Server : 192.168.0.167 or \\192.168.0.167
then I click connect but the ActivX control can not be
dowloaded and no error massage

any idea what can I check

serge

Leave the server field blank and tap on Connect.

Thnaks for your reply it works but I still have one
question.
Each time I connect to the remote system, either it logs
off or lock the remote desktop to the current user..

Is there a way that the remote user can see what I am
doing remotely, fo instance showing hime the location of
the file???

thnaks
regards
serge

That is by design. See this KB article for details...

To help/show a remote user, ie. a help desk function, you might look into using Remote Assistance.
Both PCs, yours and the remote end, must be running XP Pro or Home in order to use Remote
Assistance.
