Question: Is it possible to make a 'remote desktop' connection to my office
PC (which runs XP) from a PDA running Windows Mobile 2005?

If not, is another type of connection possible that would allow me to
remotely view and upload files from the base PC?

Many thanks in anticipation!

Look in the Programs folder for the Terminal Services Client.

If its not there you might be able to use this version that you can download
from MS...

Note that you probably will *NOT* be able to connect to a Terminal Server
(TS) or XP Pro Remote Desktop (RDP) host if the TS/RDP host requires 128-bit
encryption. You will need to reconfigure the host for 64-bit encryption or
client compatible encryption. See this page for help configuring that on an
XP Pro Remote Desktop host PC...

Some folks run the PocketPC TSC through a VPN or SSH tunnel for added
security...

It occurs to me that I may need to change remote desk top encyption settings
for my PPC 6700 to connect to my host machine. How can I do this? Is there a
defulat port my router on my host machine must be using? I am using :33000 is
that wrong? josh@kissbug(dot)com

The last URL I pointed out has all of this information...ie. encryption
settings in XP Pro, use TCP Port 3389 natively and a registry hack to change
the listening port on the PPC.
