Hi,
I'm a bit of a newbie, so forgive my possibly basic question, but what am I
doing wrong?
I've followed the instructions at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/mobility/getstarted/remoteintro.mspx,
which seems straightforward. In the host (XP sp2) computer, I checked "allow
users to connect remotely to this computer" from the Remote tab on the System
Properties tab; made sure "Dont allow excetions" is not checked; checked
"Remote Desktop" from the exceptions tab; launched RDC on the laptop and
entered the IP address of the host.
From the client, I get, "The client could not connect to the remote
computer. Remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be
too busy to accept new connections..."
1. I can use the internet as configured right?
2. VPN or a LAN is not required, correct?
3. Is a User Name and Password required? If so, how can I check to see
what they are, and if necessary, reset the password (since I dont recall
having one).
4. Anything else I'm missing?
Any tips would be much appreciated!
Thanks, Steve
