Remote Desktop RDP Problem

I have an application, which I run on a remote PC, to view it I use
Remote desktop. The application scrapes the screen at intervals.

The problem is that the screen scraping only works when the remote
desktop connection is active (not closed or minimized). I want the
application to work without the need for the remote desktop to be
connected.

Any ideas?
